Cairo Street Art - Mix

The Cairo street art collection is a unique selection of traditional handmade, brass units decorated in the traditional etching and piercing technique. This “naksh” or etching technique is used commonly on many a metallic surface in Cairo. But it is used largely with lanterns, candle holders or other lighting fixtures because it produces the most superior shadows on the wall. The vegetal and arabesque patterns are unique to Egypt and at Urban Nomad we’ve put this beautiful technique in a new garb, introducing new patterns and experimenting with contemporary electric components to create a mix of old and a new.

Material & Finish: Oxidized or Sliver-plated brass
